Victoria Dixon-Mokeba, NBCT
Founding Director/Head of School

Victoria Dixon-Mokeba has sixteen years of experience as a teacher, learner and leader in the field of inquiry based instruction. She is the founding Director of Carolina School for Inquiry, where she serves as the Head of School and also as the school’s instructional leader.  Victoria has been a leader in the charter school movement in SC since 2006. She strongly believes that parents, students and community stakeholders should have an array of options when it comes to educating 21st century learners. Anyone who comes into contact with Victoria will know that she has a deep passion for educating youth and growing faculty as staff as leaders within the school community. She has worked with a team of colleagues around the state writing the English Language Arts Standards. She also serve on the Accomplished Principals Standards Committee a select group to write national standards for National Principal Certification and was quoted by national news article; Victoria Dixon-Mokeba, head of the Carolina School of Inquiry, a Columbia, S.C., charter school, told the Washington, D.C., audience certification could have “transformative power” to boost principal effectiveness. “School leaders will be given a new high point on their career continuum”. Victoria has 3 years experiences as a Literacy Coach with South Carolina Reading Initiative which allowed her to work in an administrative role interfacing with teachers and administration on a regular basis. She was recently renewed as a Nationally Board Certified as an Early Childhood Generalist. Victoria has a Bachelor’s of Arts degree in political Science History/Pre-law from Morris College, a Masters of Arts in Teaching in Early Childhood Education from the University of South Carolina and a Master’s Degree in Educational Leadership from Cambridge College. Victoria is currently a doctoral candidate at Cambridge College. Victoria was recognized as the SC Charter School Administrator of the year by the SC Alliance of Public Charter schools in 2009. As a Principals of Excellence panelist, Victoria has led and participated in several shows for In Our Schools with SCETV. Victoria is passionate about creating and sustaining an environment that fosters meaningful learning experiences for all children and adults!
